Barooga Cricket Club’s future success and place within our community is critically dependent on strategic planning and developing an understanding of what success means for a community based club. On-field success is very important, however there are a number of other factors that will also underpin the club’s viability and ongoing growth within the community.

The support, encouragement and development of young players into responsible and respectful adults with the community and the impact that the Barooga Cricket Club can have as a genuine community partner are major factors. Player retention and providing a collaborative, safe, supportive and inclusive space for young people to ‘want’ to be part of and keep coming back to, is also a very relevant and almost critical, to the club’s future survival.

The Barooga Cricket Club Strategic Plan has been developed by the Executive and Committee Members and in consultation with club members and key stakeholders. The Plan will be frequently reviewed and updated and all members of the Barooga Cricket Club are encouraged to contribute to its ongoing development.

The Plan is:

• Intended to represent the aspirations, views and understanding of all members and stakeholders of the Barooga Cricket Club;is Subject to ongoing assessment, review and updating;

• A driver for behaviour and performance of Barooga Cricket Club;

• Consistent and complimentary to the extent practicable with the plans neighboring community sporting groups (incorporating the Barooga Football Netball Club, Barooga Little Athletics, Barooga & District Tennis Club, Barooga Recreation Reserve and Cricket Victoria.
